Over the years I have managed to maintain my passion for this fascinating art. I partially converted to digital in
October of 1994 after beta testing cameras for Kodak and Nikon between 1992-1994. I shot with the AP
Kodak/Nikon NC2000 from 1994-2003. Meanwhile, I continued to shoot film in formats from 35 mm to 4x5 on my
own time. When I purchased a Nikon D2x I knew I didn't need film anymore, because the image quality is so
good. I sold off my huge collection of film cameras to purchase the D2X, a Nikon D300, and some lenses.
Lately, I have added a Canon 5D Mark II.

When I got word that I had won "Tops (Photographer) in GR" I made this list as an attempt to understand the honor given to me February 1st 2009 in the "Tops in GR" special section in the Grand Rapids Press. I just want to thank all those who did vote for me. There are many fine photographers in the Grand Rapids area, and I don't believe my recognition diminishes their work one bit. I worked from March of 1989 til October of 2008 as an "advertising Photographer" at the Grand Rapids Press.
